The ceremonial opening of the TRS-15M Laboratory and the handover of the 28th TRS-15M station

On April 8 the ceremonial opening of the TRS-15M Laboratory and the handover of the 28th TRS-15M radar station and the remote control console for TRS-15M radar stations of the KZS-15 type took place at the Air Force Training Center.

The ceremony was attended by, among others, Brigadier General Jerzy Kwika, Head of the Radio Engineering Directorate and Deputy Inspector of the Air Force at the General Command of the Armed Forces; Colonel Józef Trejder, Commander of the Air Force Training Center in Koszalin; Colonel Maciej Strzemecki, Head of the Command and Communications Command of the Armaments Agency; Colonel Sławomir Malik, Commander of the 8th Anti-Aircraft Regiment; Lieutenant Colonel Ireneusz Ossowski, Commander of the 17th Military Economic Unit; and representatives of the PIT-RADWAR S.A. Management Board, led by Marek Borejko, Chairman of the Board. During the ceremony, a letter from Mr. Stanisław Wziątek, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of National Defence, was read, and speeches were delivered by Brigadier General Jerzy Kwika, Head of the Radio Engineering Military Board, Deputy Inspector of the Air Force of the General Command of the Armed Forces, Colonel Józef Trejder, Commander of the Air Force Training Centre in Koszalin, and Marek Borejko.

PIT-RADWAR S.A. has been delivering TRS-15M radar stations and KZS-15 remote control consoles to the Polish Armed Forces since 2007. The Armed Forces' needs and the future prospects for these products influenced the decision to develop and build a laboratory for training purposes, specializing in radar operational and repair work.

The laboratory is not the first such project by PIT-RADWAR S.A. It was developed to expand the capabilities and increase the effectiveness of training for TRS-15M radar station and KZS-15 remote control console users. The laboratory enables crew training without the use of station-based equipment, thus ensuring the continuity of the station's combat operations.

The laboratory's core component is the TRS-15M radar station, version TRS-15-7 (production series), with full functionality of its electrical and electronic systems and components.

In the future, the experience gained during the implementation of the ODRA Laboratory will be used in the implementation of similar devices, for example, in the delivery of the WARTA long-range radar station.

The TRS-15M mobile 3D medium-range surveillance radar provides a source of radar information for the air defense system. It tracks objects moving at altitudes up to 30 km and at distances exceeding 200 km from the radar. It can monitor over 100 objects simultaneously. Thanks to its antenna on a retractable mast, the station has enhanced detection and tracking capabilities for low-flying airborne targets. The TRS-15M radar stations are also equipped with ISZ-50 IFF interrogators of the MARK XIIA standard, enabling "friend-foe" identification in the current NATO Mode 5 environment.

The TRS-15M mobile 3D medium-range surveillance radar, with the addition of a sea channel functionality, can also operate as a sensor for coastal missile systems.
